Christmas is a very special and exciting time for many people, but for those who are far from home or hospitalized, it can be a somewhat complicated and sensitive period. That’s why, at the El Vendrell Regional Polyclinic, we wanted to bring the Christmas spirit to our patients once again this year by creating spaces of joy and security.

Over the past few weeks, we have organized various Christmas preparation workshops so that our patients can feel involved in the celebrations and feel cared for and supported.

A Christmas to Share

With the help of the center’s staff and the families of some of the patients, a special Christmas lunch was organized so that patients could enjoy time with their loved ones.

During lunch, a Christmas Carol Bingo was held, along with performances by some of the center’s staff. Our team worked to make the experience as pleasant as possible, helping to alleviate feelings of loneliness and strengthen bonds with others.

Christmas Carol Concert with Acoustic Guitars

During the holidays, we had the privilege of a visit from a group of guitarists called Pajaros del Barrio, who gave us a Christmas carol concert with acoustic guitars.

The music created a warm and moving atmosphere, bringing calm and joy to our patients, as well as connecting them with past experiences and making their hospital stay more pleasant. Music has great therapeutic and emotional value, especially for older adults, contributing to the improvement of their emotional well-being.

Caga Tió

The Caga Tió is one of the most beloved and cherished traditions of our region. Our patients and the center’s staff participated enthusiastically, bringing joy and memories of past Christmases.

This celebration helped stimulate memory, emotions, socialization, and emotional well-being among the patients—aspects that are especially important for older adults or those who are hospitalized.

The Three Wise Men

The visit of the Three Wise Men to the center was very exciting for the patients, as they toured all the facilities spreading joy, words of encouragement, and small gifts they had made with love.

For many patients, this visit was a pleasant surprise that brought smiles and a moment of joy and excitement during this special time of year.
