PCV

Welcome to Policlínica Comarcal del Vendrell

A private healthcare facility with origins dating back to 1941. Originally established to treat acute-care patients, it expanded its scope of care to include chronic patients in 1983 upon joining the Generalitat de Catalunya’s “Vida als anys” program. It thus became a provider for CatSalut and was designated the reference socio-health center for the Baix Penedès region, featuring a dedicated wing with 120 socio-health beds, in addition to 24 assisted-living beds also contracted through ICASS.

  • POLIMÈDIC
In 2004, the Polyclinic relocated its Outpatient Unit, Rehabilitation Unit, and Administration Department to a newly constructed annex building known as Polimèdic Central.
  • ACUTE CARE HOSPITAL
In September 2010, a new wing annexed to the original building was inaugurated, housing the Acute Care Unit, Emergency Department, Diagnostic Imaging, Laboratory, and other healthcare services. That same year saw the launch of an expanded surgical area, an MRI service, new medical specialties and diagnostic tests, and the newly established PCV Dental Clinic.
  • OUTPATIENT CLINICS
In 2014, PCV relocated its outpatient services—covering pediatrics, ophthalmology, dermatology, cosmetic surgery, and official medical examinations and certificates (driving, firearms, etc.)—to 15 Carretera de Valls (Vendrell Center).
    AMBULATORY CARE CENTER
In 2016, healthcare units were expanded, including the Surgical Ambulatory Care Unit (CMA) and Emergency Care, the Assisted Reproduction Unit, and the Sports Medicine and Ergodynamics Unit.

Our values

These PCV values are an integral part of the culture of commitment shared by all professionals in the pursuit of both their mission and their objectives.

The Polyclinic’s healthcare is patient-centered—while always taking the family into account—to ensure individualized, personal care for each patient; it must be based on the best available scientific evidence and guided by criteria of multidisciplinary treatment, efficiency, and effectiveness, while striving for comprehensive, integrated coverage.

Patient care must be delivered while ensuring, in all instances, the preservation of the rights to which the patient is entitled as an individual and a citizen, the confidentiality of personal and health-related data and circumstances, and the utmost respect for their autonomy in decision-making. In this regard, the expectations, opinions, and suggestions of patients and their families, the community, and the Polyclinic’s collaborators and professionals are taken into account and form part of the factors considered during the decision-making process.

Systematic evaluations of our performance outcomes and the pursuit of opportunities for improvement—alongside the optimization of available resources, transparency, and trust—are integral to the entire organization’s commitment to enhancing efficiency and effectiveness and fostering excellence. Comparing and benchmarking results against centers and units recognized for excellence and quality management are essential elements in keeping pace with the evolving landscape of healthcare management.

La formación continuada, soporte y capacitación técnica de los profesionales se erigen como objetivo permanente a fin de desarrollar las habilidades necesarias para una atención sociosanitaria orientada a la excelencia.
